Lightweight
running shoes are an obvious choice for runners who are interested primarily
in speed. This interest may be for such things as competitive racing
or limited running time. When sprint running, the difference in a shoe’s
weight may not be something you can feel, but sometimes the idea can
add a difference. A well-designed, lightweight shoe can provide added
inspiration to make that extra push.
For most people, lightweight running shoes simply mean added comfort.
If you’re tired from running, you can end up feeling like your
legs weigh a hundred pounds each. Especially during a hot day, you really
don’t need your shoes to add any discomfort on top of this!
A commonly used material for lightweight running shoes is blown rubber.
It is more cushioned and flexible than carbon rubber. The way it is
created is by having air injected into a rubber compound, hence the
name.
