Sand
running allows for maximum muscle usage along with a great beach or
lake view. Part of the gear you’ll need for sand running or sand
sprinting includes sand running shoes. These shoes should be comfortable,
but also allow for support on both hard and soft-packed sand.
When sand sprinting or running be careful not to damage your spine
by running up slopes. It is best to alternate between soft-packed sand
and hard-packed sand. Your sand running shoes will work effectively
with both types of sand.
Since sand running requires you to dig your toes into the sand in order
to create enough traction to move forward, sand running shoes should
be lightweight and comfortable. Shortened strides will also ensure safe
and healthy running in the sand.
